Courtesy of The Verifier and iUpdate, Apple is thinking to integrate Touch ID to the upcoming Apple Watch. According to the report, Apple will introduce this feature to the Digital Crown of the Apple Watch in 2021.

The reports also adds that the next generation Watch would have an improved water resistance than the existing Apple Watch 5 which has an IPX7 rating.

However, these sources are not reliable so it should be taken with a pinch of salt.

The next version of Apple Watch is also expected to incorporate blood oxygen level monitoring and sleep tracking. The report claims that the next version of Apple Watch will get this feature in the Digital Crown which will be followed by the Touch ID housed within the display in the later version of Watches.

The whole idea of Apple integrating Touch ID sensor on the crown is to make the payment process convenient for the users which presently required phone to complete the process.

Earlier, it was tipped that Apple had patented Touch ID technology than can be put anywhere behind the screen of the device.

Apple is set to organize its Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) in June this Year, although, the company has not yet confirmed the date. It is believed that due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19, WWDC will take place online.
